Domestic Goddess Tip! Or how to remove sticky residue from pots and pans……

I bought some new baking trays this week and stuck them in the sink to soak off the big sticker labels in hot water, assuming, stupidly, that a company selling cookware wouldn’t stick something onto the cooking surface which wouldn’t come off easily in warm soapy water.  How wrong was I?

Stupid, stupid, stupid baking tray manufacturers clearly don’t expect us to actually want to use our nice shiny new bakeware – or perhaps we shouldn’t mind bits of glue and paper gunk sticking to our food for the first twenty times or so we use them?

But thank heavens for Google and Wiki-answers!

All you have to do is soak the sticker in cooking oil for five minutes then using a soft cloth (if you’re not worried about scratches/appearance then a scouring pad will be even quicker) just rub it all off.  Finish off with a bit of Fairy Liquid and it’s all gone!
