Pizza Perfection! Well pizza base perfection at least but that doesn’t sound so catchy!

Many years ago, in fact it seems like a lifetime and somebody else’s lifetime at that ago, I lived for a few years in the lovely seaside town of Poole, in Dorset.  In order to get to know people in the area I started to do Tupperware parties and actually really enjoyed my time with them.  I think I still have a whole bunch of my old kit hanging around in my kitchen cupboards!  Such a shame they don’t still do it in this country.  Ho hum…..

What is the point in this rambling you might well ask – well, it’s that when doing the demonstrations, we were given various recipes that were easy to prepare and quick to cook, one of which was this fabulous pizza dough recipe which I have noodled about with to a certain degree and which comes out light and fluffy and really super every time.

Ingredients:

250g self-raising flour

100ml olive oil

100ml warm/hot water

40g grated cheese

Put the whole lot in a lidded bowl (Tupperware ones were ideal!), seal the lid on and then shake vigorously until it forms a dough then remove it from the bowl and roll out.  It really is that simple!

You can sprinkle some semolina over the base if you like that slightly crunch finish to your pizza dough.
